Your visit to Orange is not complete without checking out the fantastic cellar doors and farm gates that are open for you to visit. Also, delight in the delicious local produce and retail experiences that the Orange region has to offer.

The Orange wine region is 600m above sea level. Grapes have been grown here since it was settled in the nineteenth century. The first commercial production of table grapes followed the arrival of the railway in 1877. The modern development of the wine industry in Orange began in the early 1980s.

The Orange region is a significant and diverse area rich with primary production this enables everyone to work so well together. The grapes in this region maintain a high level of acid and fruitfulness all the way to harvest. The soil in Orange combined with the cool climate achieves a tight complexity and finesse of the fruit which makes for extraordinary winemaking.

For over a century, this region has been a productive source of orchard fruit, beef, lamb, grapes, venison, honey, nuts, berries and many other products. This together with a spectacular rural landscape and a vibrant restaurant and cafe scene, make Orange an exciting destination for wine and food.
